THE FATHER OF OUR DAUGHTERS

When I think of a Daddy, I think of someone who cares, gives & loves. From the time our daughters were old enough to play ball, ride bikes, ride horses, play tennis, win trophies and receive awards in sports, academics, music & drama, Dad was there.

He was their coach, their mentor, their audience, and their Dad! One of the things he did as a coach was to plan a “work out” program for them. He would pick them up from school, bringing with him a snack and then off to the “work out”. He was very strict in a loving way. As the mother of these children I would think he was too hard on them. I would say: “can’t they just do this for fun”. His remark was: “if we invest in this, work follows”! He also went on to say: “if they are going to make anything out of their lives, they must learn commitment, determination & discipline. Wow---sounds like a plan to me.

As a family we all worked together, supported each other and cheered each other on throughout the years. There was equipment, outfits, and time that went into these projects. This was our investment plan. Our COACH always had a plan. Yes, he was a coach, but always a DAD!

When the teen years got into full bloom there were other challenges. There were some rough roads in the lives of our girls, of which they needed guidance. As the MOM, I handled most of the discipline. BUT when the “biggies” came into play, I would cry, fret & worry and DAD would take over. Sometimes we would pray together, talk it over, make decisions and DAD would take the wheel of the problem. There were several things he would do: he might take them out for a coke, he might take them to the basement for “the talk”, and he might even take them shopping, but he ALWAYS came through strong and loving.

I want to thank Lee Lebsack for being a helpmeet to me in raising three strong willed daughters who all had a mind of their own. I never could have done it without this man who was and is a true DAD! I also want to thank God Almighty for wisdom through challenging times. I know there are parents who do it without God, but when He is included in our plans & decisions we have a strong team: DAD, MOM & GOD THE FATHER.

These now adult daughters have chosen strong, Christian husbands, whom we love as sons. They now have their own families and God Bless each of their family units.

Happy Father’s Day Lee Lebsack from your wife, Sharon
I love you!

Malachi 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this

statement meant about the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back

to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch

him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond

her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up.

He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the

fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again

about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.'

She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the

whole time.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had

to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left

a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you

know when the silver is fully refined?' He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that's easy

-- when I see my image in it.'

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you

and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Pass this on right now. This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them.

And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in
