Thank you Mom!

When I think about Mother's Day I think first of all of my Mom, Kate Bunger, who was born in 1900. She lived to be 102 years of age. My Mom was 40 when I was born. She and my Dad had already raised two children Beverly who was 20 and RC who was 17. WOW!  They were SURPRISED! My Mom lived for her children and gave all of us a firm foundation in Christ, in ourselves and others. Thank you MOM!

Everyone comes from different backgrounds, different environments and different circumstances after birth.  What I want to leave with all of you today is "THANK YOU GOD AND MOM FOR GIVING ME BIRTH IN ORDER THAT I CAN FULFILL THE PURPOSE FOR MY LIFE." Take what has been given to you and sail with it!!! Don't allow a "devastating life" stop you from having  a "wonderful life"! It is your choice. YOU WERE BORN WITH A PURPOSE AND GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIND THAT PLAN. Use your circumstances to help, encourage and love others.

I had a wonderful family unit. My parents loved me, protected me, provided for me and most of all believed in me. There is not a day goes by that I don't thank God for this gift of life. Our family unit had many hard times, but we stayed strong in our faith and our love for each other.

God Bless all Moms around the world!

Thank you Mom!

21st century moms are making their mark. Today we see moms planting churches, preaching, evangelizing and teaching just to name a few. We see them writing books, homeschooling their children, or working in corporate America. Moms are on boards, commissions, and executive leaders.  They are behind the scenes and visibly up front. Moms are bravely serving our country in all branches of the military.

How Can I Change the dynamics of MY HOMEMY COMMUNITY AND MY WORLD?

I was reading an article the other day which led me to this title: HOW CAN I CHANGE THE DYNAMICS OF MY HOME, MY COMMUNITY AND MY WORLD? The list I'm posting was suggested of a way to start:
RESURRECT GOOD MEMORIES INSTEAD OF BAD?

SPEAK POSITIVELY, EVEN THOUGH THE SITUATION MIGHT BE NEGATIVE?

MAKE A CONCERTED EFFORT TO RESIST THE EFFORT TO ENGAGE IN GOSSIP?

SAY A PRAYER OF THANKS ON OUR DRIVE TO WORK INSTEAD OF THINKING OF ALL THE THINGS WE DON'T WANT TO DO ONCE WE GET THERE?

SHOW FORGIVENESS TO SOMEONE WE DON'T THINK DESERVES IT? OR
ACCEPT THAT THE PAST IS DEAD, BUT WE HAVE THE POWER TO RESURRECT HOPE FOR OUR FUTURE?

IF WE REALLY BELIEVE: "THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HATH MADE, LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT" LET'S PUT SOME ACTION INTO  MAKING OUR HOME, OUR COMMUNITY AND OUR WORLD A BETTER PLACE.

IF YOU BELIEVE ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE-LET IT BEGIN IN YOU. AFTER ALL ONE MAN DYING ON THE CROSS, TAKING THE SINS OF THE WORLD UPON HIMSELF, MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR YOU AND ME TO HAVE SALVATION AND HEAVEN AS OUR HOME.

MAKE ROOM FOR A THANKFUL HEART

A THANKFUL HEART IS something everyone of us would love to have BUT are we willing to work at a place where our HEART IS OPEN FOR BLESSINGS???  As I have been thinking about the Thanksgiving Season we in America have so much to be thankful for-but are we overlooking the positives crowded out by the negatives. I would like to challenge each of us at this Season of the Year to do some searching & correcting on issues that may be crowding out the blessings. THEN COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS ONE BY ONE!

ANGER:  "IT IS WISE TO DIRECT YOUR anger towards challenges- not people: to focus your energies on answers-not excuses" William Arthur Ward.

Scripture: Psalm 37:8&9 "CEASE FROM ANGER AND FORSAKE WRATH: FRET NOT THYSELF IN ANY WISE TO DO EVIL.  FOR EVILDOERS SHALL BE CUT OFF: BUT THOSE THAT WAIT ON THE LORD, THEY SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH AND BE BLESSED".

ANXIETY:  "ANXIETY does not empty tomorrow of it's sorrows, but only empties today of it's strength." Charles Spurgeon
"Every tomorrow has 2 handles.  We can take hold of it with the handle of ANXIETY or the handle of FAITH". Henry Ward Beecher.

Scripture:  Dueteronomy 31:6  "BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE, FEAR NOT, NOR BE AFRAID: FOR THE LORD THY GOD, HE IT IS THAT DOTH GO WITH YOU; HE WILL NOT FAIL YOU, NOR FORSAKE YOU."

AGITATION:  "The greater the feeling of inferiority that has been experienced, the more powerful is the urge to conquest and the more violent the emotional agitation." Alfred Adler

Scripture:  Proverbs 29:11  "A FOOL UTTERETH ALL HIS MIND; BUT A WISE MAN KEEPETH IT IN TILL AFTERWARDS.

CONFUSED:  "The confused attitude is not good enough for a detailed consideration of a subject." Michael Konda

Scripture:  Proverbs 3:5 & 6  "TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL THIN HEART AND LEAN NOT UNTO YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING.  IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM AND HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATH"

STRESSED:  "In times of great stress or adversity, it's always best to keep busy, to plow your anger and your energy into something positive."  Lee Iacocca

Scripture:  Matthew 11:28  "COME UNTO ME, ALL YOU THAT LABOR AND ARE HEAVY LADEN AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST."

WE ALL NEED A NIGHT, NIGHT BEAR!!!

In about 3 and a half weeks, my baby is going to be having a baby. It's been so fun to follow Krystal's Blog each week and her journey of motherhood . Many days when I read it, I'm laughing and most of the days, I'm crying... just because I'm a sap and it doesn't take much for me to get sentimental these days. When Krystal found out she was pregnant, she dug out her Night Night Bear. Both Krystal and Caleb had pacifiers and we called them their "night night". And, there was always a favorite one (same brand, but broken in). John and I found ourselves many nights, searching the house, the lawn, in bags, under rugs to frantically find the special broken-in night night. Well, when Krystal had her second birthday, I thought it was time to wean her off the night night. Oh how scary this was for me - she LOVED her night night...even more than Caleb did. So, we had a game-plan and tried to play the old switcheroo...we bought a very special "Night Night Bear" for Krystal to replace her night night (pacifier). I'll never forget the night when we tried to tell her that night night was gone and NOW she gets to sleep with Night Night Bear. Oh how the tears fell out of those beautiful brown eyes and then the tears fell out of my eyes... and John - well, I couldn't tell you where he was - ha! I don't think he could handle the drama. About 3 months ago Krystal came to me and said she wanted to have Night Night Bear reconstructed. The poor bear hardly had any stuffing, was missing an arm, her eyes were so deep into the fabric you couldn't them, she looked dirty... the list goes on. Krystal wanted to use the same fabric and keep the nose (which had teeth marks on it - precious). I found a lady at my work that makes bears and she kept Night Night Bear for about 3 weeks... as you can tell below - she did an amazing job. And now, Brynley will have her mommy's Night Night Bear. You may be curious what we gave Caleb when we felt he needed to be weaned off his night night.... Well, you have to understand, we waited five years between our kids and I was just too tired to go through the trauma again... so, he weaned himself off - ha! This is my daughter's latest blog of which I wanted to share on my blog. The rest of the story is @ tamibullard@blogspot.com HOW TRUE-WE ALL NEED ENCOURAGEMENT FROM EACH OTHER, SOMEONE WHO CARES, LOVES & ACCEPTS US JUST AS GOD, OUR FATHER, DOES.

      Calm the Storm

CALM THE STORM Oswald Chambers has said: “WE MUST GET SICK UNTO DEATH OF OURSELVES…” Ouch! When we become discouraged, angry, depressed and disillusioned our eyes are only on “OURSELVES”. Every day I run into someone who has hit “rock bottom”, and I want to help with every ounce of encouragement I can find. The sad thing is I cannot do it for anyone. We are all accountable for ourselves with our own solutions. Today, if you are struggling to stay calm in the storm, let me try to guide you to shore. Relinquish your will to the SOURCE of your answer – God! 1. Relax and ride the storm out with confidence in your SOURCE – God! 2. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness! 3. Have faith that God will make good out of what Satan intends for bad. 4. Study the manual, it will show you exactly what to do. Have you lost a job, your mate, your health? Have your children given you great disappointment? Is money a challenge in paying bills? Do you feel all alone and no one cares? Does everything you put your hand to, seem to blow up in your face? I am going to make a suggestion of taking your eyes off of yourself and your situation, and putting all of your attention to God, your source. Deuteronomy 6 has a lot to say for you today: v. 2 –obey the word v.5 – love the Lord your God with all your heart v.7 – talk about God’s commands all day v.12 – remember what God has done for you in the past v.17 – keep all of God’s commands, and do what is right. v.24 – fear God , be obedient and you will prosper Love, Sharon

THE BROKEN CHANDELIER This past week we were getting three rooms ready for the carpet cleaner. I carried a Crystal Chandelier into our guest bathroom so it would be safe. As I sat it down so it would be safe, some of the Crystal teardrops fell and broke. I glued them back together, but of course the piece lost its value at that moment. Oh well, it still worked. The next day I picked it up to move it back to its safe place. As I leaned to pick it up, all of the Crystal holders and teardrops fell into hundreds of pieces. No value at all now, only a partial chandelier, broken beyond repair. Have you ever felt you have been broken beyond repair? Psalm 34:17 says: “THE LORD IS CLOSE TO THE BROKEN HEARTED AND SAVES THOSE WHO ARE CRUSHED IN SPIRIT.” In Gene Edward’s book, “TALE OF THREE KINGS” he explains brokenness like this: “BY EARTHLY MEASURE DAVID WAS A SHATTERED MAN; BY GOD’S MEASURE A BROKEN ONE. DAVID HAD CHANGED DURING HIS INTERACTION WITH SAUL. HIS PERSONALITY, DISPOSITION, AND TOTAL BEING HAD BEEN ALTERED DURING THIS TIME. HE TALKED LESS AND LOVED GOD MORE. HE SANG DIFFERENTLY.” I happened to be “just looking” at a garage sale last week and found some crystal pieces to replace those that shattered. The Chandelier looks different, has a different purpose, but that’s OK. It is still beautiful, just different. If you’re BROKEN today, God majors in putting the shattered pieces back together. Expect to be, act and even look different, as did David and the Chandelier. That’s OK. God can put your PURPOSE, TEMPERAMENT AND BEING back together through your circumstances in life.

LET GOD BE GOD ! I am deeply convinced of the evil and misery of a sinful state, of the vanity of creatures, but also of the sufficiency of Christ. When thou wouldst guide me I control myself, When thou wouldst be sovereign I rule myself. When thou wouldst take care of me I suffice myself. When I should depend on thy providings I supply myself. When I should submit to thy providence I follow my will, When I should study, love, honor, trust thee, I serve myself; I fault and correct thy laws to suit myself, Instead of thee I look to man's approbation, and am by nature an idolator. Lord, it is my chief design to bring my heart back to thee. Convince me that I cannot be my own god, or make myself happy, nor my own Christ to restore my joy, nor my own Spirit to teach, guide, rule me. Help me to see that grace does by this providential affliction, for when my credit is god thou dost cast me lower, when riches are my idol thou doset wing them away, when pleasure is my all thou dost turn it into bitterness. Take away my roving eye, curious ear, greedy appetite, lustful heart; Show me that none of these things can heal a wounded conscience, or support a tottering frame, or uphold a departing spirit. Then take me to the cross and leave me there. -- from "Man a Nothing" (The Valley of Vision)
