THE JOURNEY

GOD IS NOT SO MUCH INTERESTED IN THE ANSWER OR END RESULT OF OUR SUFFEREING, AS HE IS OF THE PROCESS OF “GETTING THERE”!

LUKE 12:31
BUT SEEK HIS KINGDOM AND THESE THINGS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU…”

I don’t know about you, but speaking for myself, I am more interested in the “answer”! The process or JOURNEY brings me fear, doubt and worry! “BUT WHAT IF…” is a term one of our daughters said as a child in situations that she was fearful of. Our answer was always: “it’s going to be ok”, and she would say: “but what if”? That sounds like conversations we have with God, doesn’t it?

There are three places in life for us to be:

MOUNTAIN TOP – a place where we can become arrogant and prideful, and the fall is a long way down.
FOOT OF THE MOUNTAIN – a place where we’ve lost heart and we have become weak, feeble and sick.
CLIMBING THE MOUNTAIN – a healthy place to be, this is “real life”. We can be prepared with equipment and nourishment along with a personal guide.

The challenge you are presently facing is where God wants you to learn and become like Him. It is a chance to PROVE GOD! The JOURNEY you are facing, we call the process and God calls it the end. This is what He is interested in because, climbing the mountain calls for us to TRUST, OBEY AND LEAN. His purpose is for this moment, not so much for immediate relief. The strain is the strength. If there is no strain, there is no strength. We will get weak on top of the mountain, and at the bottom of the mountain. It is climbing the mountain (the journey) where we become strong, believing, and trusting.

While doubt and fear keep us paralyzed at the base of the mountain, God is patiently waiting for us to get up, and trust Him to renew our strength. Do you remember the book: “The Little Engine That Could”? The engine said: “I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN!” Then we take these steps:

STAND UP AND WALK – Ask God for help.
EAT – Take nourishment from the Word.
CHANGE – Thought Patterns from “I can’t to I can”!
TRUST GOD – to be your mountain climbing companion.

THE JOURNEY IS WHERE THE PROCESS TAKES PLACE OF BECOMING THE PERSON GOD INTENDED YOU TO BE!
