MAKE ROOM FOR A THANKFUL HEART

A THANKFUL HEART IS something everyone of us would love to have BUT are we willing to work at a place where our HEART IS OPEN FOR BLESSINGS???  As I have been thinking about the Thanksgiving Season we in America have so much to be thankful for-but are we overlooking the positives crowded out by the negatives. I would like to challenge each of us at this Season of the Year to do some searching & correcting on issues that may be crowding out the blessings. THEN COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS ONE BY ONE!

ANGER:  "IT IS WISE TO DIRECT YOUR anger towards challenges- not people: to focus your energies on answers-not excuses" William Arthur Ward.

Scripture: Psalm 37:8&9 "CEASE FROM ANGER AND FORSAKE WRATH: FRET NOT THYSELF IN ANY WISE TO DO EVIL.  FOR EVILDOERS SHALL BE CUT OFF: BUT THOSE THAT WAIT ON THE LORD, THEY SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH AND BE BLESSED".

ANXIETY:  "ANXIETY does not empty tomorrow of it's sorrows, but only empties today of it's strength." Charles Spurgeon
"Every tomorrow has 2 handles.  We can take hold of it with the handle of ANXIETY or the handle of FAITH". Henry Ward Beecher.

Scripture:  Dueteronomy 31:6  "BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE, FEAR NOT, NOR BE AFRAID: FOR THE LORD THY GOD, HE IT IS THAT DOTH GO WITH YOU; HE WILL NOT FAIL YOU, NOR FORSAKE YOU."

AGITATION:  "The greater the feeling of inferiority that has been experienced, the more powerful is the urge to conquest and the more violent the emotional agitation." Alfred Adler

Scripture:  Proverbs 29:11  "A FOOL UTTERETH ALL HIS MIND; BUT A WISE MAN KEEPETH IT IN TILL AFTERWARDS.

CONFUSED:  "The confused attitude is not good enough for a detailed consideration of a subject." Michael Konda

Scripture:  Proverbs 3:5 & 6  "TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL THIN HEART AND LEAN NOT UNTO YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING.  IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM AND HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATH"

STRESSED:  "In times of great stress or adversity, it's always best to keep busy, to plow your anger and your energy into something positive."  Lee Iacocca

Scripture:  Matthew 11:28  "COME UNTO ME, ALL YOU THAT LABOR AND ARE HEAVY LADEN AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST."
